Chiefs and Elders Welcome New Mattresses

The chiefs and elders of Moma and the villages surrounding Moma got a chance to welcome the new mattresses and see them in place in the hospital ward.

According to Dr. Christoph Bakamubia, the village leaders thanked Friends of Moma Hospital for the mattresses and “prayed for God to protect” all of those who supported this effort.

The last of the mattresses were transported to Moma from Luisa on a 3-wheel Kawasaki motorbike fitted out as a mini-hauler (“mule”). Pictures show that even with the assistance of the Kawasaki motorbike, the trip was still arduous over bad bridges and washed out roads.

The chiefs representing villages along the Moma to Luisa road have committed to working to improve the road and work crews have already begun making repairs.
