Two weeks ago Friends of Moma Hospital formally opened a fundraising campaign for the purchase of Lifestraw Family water purifying units. To date, we have received enough donations to purchase 51 water filters.

However, none will reach Moma Hospital until we can purchase the entire lot of 275 Lifestraw units sitting in a warehouse in Kinshasa, the capital of the Congo.

Transportation to Moma is simply too expensive and too dangerous to send a small number of units. Ideally, once we have purchased all 275 units, they will be flown from Kinshasa to Kananga, the capital of the Kasai province, and then a truck will transport them the last 200 miles to Moma.
